About the Department

Language is a powerful tool for human growth and development. It is aptly said that, the heart is like a box and language is the key; only by using the key we can open the box and observe the gems it contains. The department of English strives very hard to the student’s to be world citizens who will effectively fulfil the role in the emerging world. Started in the year 1981 with three sanctioned posts, the department has been contributing its efforts in improving LSRW skills of the students using ICT. The main focus of the department is to acquaint the student to learn the target language. The faculty has been following the learner centric method for the benefit of the students.

Aims and objectives

  • To prepare the students to face the challenges of the globalised world by enhancing their communication and soft skills.

  • The faculty aims at making the students participate in various activities that enhance the skill and competency of the students to face the competitive world.

  • The department aims to adopt some innovative process in teaching and learning through ICT.

Highlights of the department

  • Ms.Asfia, B.A.IIIyr EM was trained in soft skills under the TSKC platform and secured placement in GENPACT.

  • J.Jhansi of B.Com IIIyrEM was honoured with a gold medal and cash incentive as the topper in English.

  • The students prepared models in idioms.

  • The students got an opportunity to interact with the HRs of different firms.
